Itinerary: Firenze by night
1
Osteria di Santo Spirito
Florence by night changes radically: the shops close, the street markets leave the squares and you can find restaurants, cafés, wine bar and venues for every taste.
If you wish to have dinner in the Oltrarno area, you have a huge choice of restaurants. To taste our traditional meals, you can go to Santo bevitore or Osteria di Santo Spirito. Two typical restaurants are Trattoria da Ginone, proposing authentic Florentine cuisine since 1949 and Trattoria da Giovanni, offering traditional Florentine food with fresh pasta, steak and lampredotto. If you prefer eating pizza, a required stop is the restaurant ‘O Munaciello. For a dinner with live music and a wonderful view over Florence you must try the Golden View Open Bar.
San FrediaVino
2
The Oltrarno area offers a wide variety of pubs also for those who prefer different kinds of food: Italian tapas, a Tuscan-style tapas bar open until late at night and excellent for cocktails and finger food, San FrediaVino, small but cozy restaurant near Borgo San Frediano that proposes a very creative cuisine and Passaguai, the perfect choice for those who love sophisticated but cheap food. It is very well-known for its variety of meat tartare.
3
La Citè
There is plenty of venues and pubs for every need. If you look for live music or would like to read a book while tasting a glass of wine, we suggest the Volume, that was a vintage shop decorated with wooden sculptures and La cité.
Kawaii
4
For cocktails, finger food dinner and dj set, we suggest the Dolce Vita in Piazza del Carmine, whereas, if you want to discover “stranger” venues, two necessary stops are Rasputin , a secret bar located “somewhere” in Santo Spirito area, inspired from the prohibitionism period, and Kawaii, first saké bar in Italy.
5
Antico Vinaio
If you want to move away from the Oltrarno area and spend your night in the city centre, there are a lot of venues. You can stop in Piazza della Repubblica for a cocktail at the Giubbe Rosse or at the Caffè Donnini. A required stop for your lunch break is the Antico Vinaio, where you can taste sandwiches and focaccia breads with cold cuts, cheese, sauces and every kind of seasoning with a good glass of wine. Here the queue is sometimes longer than at the Uffizzi gallery! Be patient because it will worth it.
Santa Croce
6
A very nice location for your evening is Piazza Santa Croce, with all the small streets all around it which are full of venues: The William Pub, for beer, hamburger and live music, the Red Garter, steakhouse with karaoke and dj set and the Moyo, for excellent cocktails.
The last stop to best enjoy Florence by night is Sant’Ambrogio. Following Via dei Pilastri, you will find an infinity of pubs, pizzerie, restaurants, wine bars and cocktail bars. Just a few of them: Rex Café, Caffé Sant’Ambrogio, Art.17 Birreria Artigianale, Enoteca dei Macci and Monkey Bar.
7
L’Ortone
If you want to have lunch or dinner, the necessary stops are: L’Ortone, an intimate and rustic restaurant that offer revisited Tuscan cuisine and an excellent selection of wines, La Drogheria, a cocktail bar with very good hamburgers, Santarpia and Il Pizzaiuolo to taste an excellent pizza and the Cucineria la Mattonaia, for those who want Italian cuisine in a sophisticated venue. For a street food style lunch, we suggest Semel in Piazza Ghiberti, a small sandwich bar where you find very original sandwiches and good wines.
